Metabolic Metrics
Metabolism and body composition metrics
Average Glucose
Mean blood glucose level over a period, often measured by CGM.
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
The number of calories your body burns at rest to maintain basic functions.
Body Fat Percentage (BF%)
The proportion of total body weight that is fat tissue.
Body Mass Index (BMI)
A ratio of weight to height used as a general indicator of body composition.
Body Water Percentage
The proportion of body weight that is water, indicating hydration status.
Bone Mineral Density (BMD)
A measure of bone strength and osteoporosis risk.
Fasting Glucose
Blood sugar level after an overnight fast.
Fasting Insulin
Insulin levels after fasting, used to assess insulin resistance.
Glucose Variability
Fluctuations in blood sugar levels throughout the day.
Hemoglobin A1c (A1c)
Average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months.
HOMA-IR
Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance, calculated from glucose and insulin.
Metabolic Age
Estimated age based on metabolic health compared to population averages.
Postprandial Glucose
Blood sugar levels after eating, indicating glucose tolerance.
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
Calories burned at rest, slightly higher than BMR due to measurement conditions.
Subcutaneous Fat
Fat stored under the skin, generally less metabolically harmful than visceral fat.
Time in Range (TIR)
Percentage of time blood glucose stays within target range.
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)
Total calories burned per day including all activities.
Visceral Fat
Fat stored around internal organs, associated with metabolic disease.
Waist Circumference
Measurement around the waist, an indicator of abdominal fat and metabolic risk.
Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR)
Ratio of waist circumference to height, a predictor of cardiometabolic risk.
Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR)
Ratio of waist to hip circumference, indicating fat distribution.
